At SafeBase, we prefer to stay ahead of potential challenges. Recently, we’ve obtained several new clients and experienced a constant need for upgraded functionality in SafeMon. Therefore, we’ve strengthened our team with two skilled colleagues. Meet our new COO Rune Jøraanstad and developer Jonas Bergkvist Melå!

The degree of electrification in Norway is increasing — including in rural districts, where power grid stations with 1000V are becoming more and more common. Electrification has given rise to a need for common guidelines for the connection process, in particular due to specific documentation requirements imposed by authorities. The guidelines were introduced in RENblad 9116 this summer, and included, among other things, a requirement for insulation monitoring for 1000V in grid stations.

As Norway’s biggest challenger, Telia is at the forefront when sustainable and flexible solutions that maximise the utilisation of the equipment and capacity of the base stations, are put into use. Two years after SafeBase and Telia signed a cooperation agreement, SafeMon technology has created new opportunities for the challenger.

In recent years, we have collaborated with Tensio on an R&D project to optimize and further develop SafeMon Smart Meter Insight. Recently we signed an extended contract, bringing Smart Meter Insight and Management into Tensio’s day-to-day operations. The grid company is now looking forward to streamlining operations and significantly reducing costs.

SafeMon is now being tailored to fit Ohmia Construction. Ohmia Construction supplies mobile containers for charging construction machinery and will use SafeMon to achieve better operational control and decision-making support. The agreement allows Ohmia to have more reliable charging facilities and can optimize power transmission from the grid company.

BKK Nett has now installed substation monitoring from SafeBase at 317 substations. This means they are on target with the first phase of a rollout that will eventually ensure that metrics from several thousand substations all arrive in the same place.

Growth is the key word as we look back at the past year, alongside CEO Lars Erik Gjervan. New applications added to the SafeMon-family, new customers and more projects – leading to even better insight, control and overview of critical infrastructure for our customers.

To provide additional features at an even higher pace, we have expanded our team with three new employees. These employments are made at a time when we’re experiencing a noticeable increase in the number of assignments.

The protected area around the tourist attraction Trollstigen has finally received mobile coverage. Atop the mountain, Telia has done the impossible – built a base station powered by solar and wind energy, without backup diesel generators. Remote monitoring is crucial for smooth operations in such remote locations,. Our telecom-adapted SmartSite solution make sure remote monitoring is handled.
