Developer Erlend: — Learned more at SafeBase than throughout my studies

SafeBase are in an exciting phase, strengthening our team with new colleagues. At the same time, we are recruiting from our own ranks. One year ago, developer Erlend Høyland started his trial-period with us; November 1st, he officially becomes a permanent member of our team, as a full stack developer.

— I’ve learned more about development in one year with SafeBase than throughout my entire education, says Erlend.

Like many of our young developers, Erlend worked with Experis after completing his computer science education. He worked at Experis for approximately one year before starting at SafeBase.

Data security on the agenda

As a full-stack developer and permanent member of our team, Erlend will work with both front-end development and Java. He has experience visualizing data throughout the entire SafeMon portfolio.

— Right now, I mainly work on the Smartgrid applications. Because we visualize data from critical infrastructure, accuracy is a crucial component of our work. The worst-case scenario is that carelessness leads to incorrect or unimportant information being displayed.

— The current world situation has emphasized the need for pristine data security. Moving forward, data security will be an important focus area for SafeBase, as we increase our expertise on the topic. I look forward to gaining more experience within the field of data security.

Recommend others to apply

Erlend recommends that anyone who likes development and is solution-oriented – and wants to improve their skills – to apply to SafeBase.

— I really enjoy working at SafeBase. As someone who’s new to the field, there’s a low threshold for asking more experienced colleagues for advice and help. At the same time, you also get a lot of leeway to find your own solutions. It’s a great working environment with excellent people.

Welcome Erlend, as a permanent member of the SafeBase-team!
